     I have had a ton of experience with Microsoft word in schools, and it is a platform I am most comfortable using in doing assignments for classes. Microsoft word is very simple and a great platform for any assignment that includes typing multiple sentences. I do not prefer google docs or pages because word is just an easier platform and I am able to move around word documents easily if I need to submit or share them. I am very familiar with all of the different formats and methods for using Microsoft word and that can be beneficial for so many things in schools. 

    The standard that is the most meaningful to me out of the ISTE Standards for Educators is 2.2 Leader; this standard focuses on the concept that educators are leaders to support their students and do this to improve teaching and learning. I think it is very important that teachers take on a big leadership role when it comes to their students because it will foster immense growth in the classroom. Another part of 2.2 discussed advocating for access for students which is also important because not all schools or classrooms receive the same materials or technology and as someone in the role of a teacher it is important to try and better your classroom for your students. 

    Digital natives is a great way to describe the younger generations relationship with technology in the modern world. Being a digital native comes from the normalization of giving children access to technology that older generations did not have and in doing this it can shorten attention spans and shy children away from reading and other learning techniques. There are very many differences between "digital natives" and "digital immigrants" many digital immigrants need help from natives in using some technology and tools because they did not grow up with the same levels of tech and natives are more familiar to it. I like digital immigrants that have been my teachers because they rely on my paper based and collaborative assignments rather than tons of technology in the classroom. In my classroom I hope to have a balance between technology and paper-based assignments because I do not want my students to fully rely on technology and computers.

      When researching for this assignment I could not find a teacher page on a school website because with technology now teachers typically use a different informative platform to post any information, they would like parents to see. Information you would typically see on a teacher page include ways to access the teacher like an email, class announcements parents need to know about like a school field trip, or photos of the class so parents can see what their students are doing in class. Furthermore, teachers may post things for school officials, other teachers, or the county to see on the school page as well. So, they may post the standards their teaching and what learning opportunities they are doing in class to achieve these standards.      As a teacher, I will use technological platforms in order to keep my parents informed and engaged in their child's schooling and learning.       When I first started working on the website design I struggled with using the platform because I am not that technologically advanced. However, once I started experimenting with the Weebly platform I actually enjoyed creating the website and adding the different elements. In creating the website some design principles, I used were the addition of vibrant colors, visual hierarchy, and navigation. By using vibrant colors, it made the assignment fun and made the website fun to look at. Then, visual hierarchy and navigation made this website easily accessible and easy to find the different sections for parents and students.
