When I first started working on the website design I struggled with using the platform because I am not that technologically advanced. However, once I started experimenting with the Weebly platform I actually enjoyed creating the website and adding the different elements. In creating the website some design principles, I used were the addition of vibrant colors, visual hierarchy, and navigation. By using vibrant colors, it made the assignment fun and made the website fun to look at. Then, visual hierarchy and navigation made this website easily accessible and easy to find the different sections for parents and students. I disliked that the platform tried to make me pay to be able to create my own link, but overall, I did enjoy the assignment.  Weebly      With becoming a teacher QR codes are a great resource to utilize in the classroom and have been used successfully in many classes I have taken. Whether it is for attendance, quizzes, games, or f...

When researching for this assignment I could not find a teacher page on a school website because with technology now teachers typically use a different informative platform to post any information, they would like parents to see. Information you would typically see on a teacher page include ways to access the teacher like an email, class announcements parents need to know about like a school field trip, or photos of the class so parents can see what their students are doing in class. Furthermore, teachers may post things for school officials, other teachers, or the county to see on the school page as well. So, they may post the standards their teaching and what learning opportunities they are doing in class to achieve these standards.      As a teacher, I will use technological platforms in order to keep my parents informed and engaged in their child's schooling and learning. A tool I will use is personal chats with each student's parents to do weekly...

The standard that I chose is SC.912.HS.3.1 and 3.2 focusing on computer science and digital footprints in schools. These standards discuss the importance of posts or comments on the internet being permanent as well as, social media influencing digital footprints, cultures, and communities. With my current skill set this is definitely something I am prepared to enforce in my school and classroom to educate my students about the importance. I think within high schools this is something many schools and students struggle with and it is something I value so I would do my best to educate students and apply it to our computer science lessons.      A resource I found in the CPALMS toolkit that would be helpful in a social studies class to teach valuable lessons is the community clean up case study. This lesson is for grade 3 and it teaches students the importance of volunteering in your community and how it connects to social studies. This toolkit focuses on...

With my limited experience with blogging, I have learned that it is a great way to express yourself throughout your writing. Blogging is a great way to improve your writing skills and write about a specific topic. I do not like the blogger app because it is an odd platform to use and I struggled at first with saving the URL and putting it in canvas. However, now I have learned how to do that and have found this is actually a good writing platform.      Ai in a K-12 setting teaches students bad school behavior from a very young age. It can lead to students depending on Ai to do their schoolwork instead of learning the information themselves and it can end badly for assignments or test that they are unavailable to use Ai. This sets up students poorly for college and leads to them not being able to understand simple and complex concepts in their daily life. Overall, Ai in education is not a great solution for children to properly learn....

When I was younger some early social media tools, I used included platforms like Pinterest, snapchat, tik Tok, and YouTube. When I was younger on platforms like snapchat and Tik Tok I was only allowed to interact with people that I knew and that my parents knew so mainly friends and family for my personal online safety. I found this beneficial because these platforms were very entertaining and fun to play on and it was very convenient to talk to friends from school this way that I may only see during the week at school. In my future career I do not think these platforms will be helpful because I think they can be harmful for some students and it is inappropriate for teachers to be communicating with their students on these platforms.      Growing up I went to a primarily digitally rich school for elementary and middle school, and we had great technological access. In elementary school, each classroom had their own computer cart for when there were technologi...

As a teacher it is very important to address copyright and fair use, it can be very easy for students to copyright things with things like AI being so present in society. It is crucial that students complete their own work because it helps them retain knowledge and learn the material being taught. Growing up in a world where technology has grown so much, I think learning is fostered more through hands on work, paper assignments, and closed note exams. As teachers, we have to prevent AI from doing our students work for them because without learning what is taught in schools, students will not be able to fully succeed.      The technology issue I have selected is cyberbullying; this is a huge problem in schools and affects the student and school culture. Most schools state that there is a 0-tolerance policy for cyberbullying, but I do not always see this being heavily enforced. A solution to this needs to be a full enforcement in schools, sometimes admi...
